What's Up? An Introduction to Myself

Hello! I'm Tina, and thanks for deciding to stick around.

As stated both on my site and on my Hello post, this blog is dedicated to my mentor, Mr. K. I'm not getting into the details, as it's not my place to share, but he sadly passed away. He's the sole reason why I am on the journey that I'm on now, and I am forever grateful for everything he has taught me.

I am a 17 year old senior who has a passion for journalism (if that hasn't already been made clear.) But there's more to me than just that.

I love reading, as a matter of fact, my favorite series is the Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan. I was introduced to the PJO universe in the 4th grade, and since then I've been a bit obsessed with Greek Mythology.

I'm also a bit of a videographer/editor. I'm gonna admit, I'm not as talented as some of my other classmates, but it's something that I enjoy doing. I never knew I would like it as much as I did if I never took any of my school's video classes; Rest in Paradise K. During my time in his video classes, and my school's video club, I had the amazing opportunity to go to California twice in the past 2 years for the annual Student Television Network (also known as STN) National Convention. Both years, my school has won outstanding awards. From Honorable Mention for a short film, all the way to placing second in a broadcast category for the East Coast for the first time ever in our school's history. Seriously, we've never submitted anything in that category up until the 2024 convention. VPC has had our own mini contests, including one that traverses all over my home county. My VPC memories are some of my most cherished moments.

Apart from VPC, I'm planning on getting involved with my school's newspaper during my senior year.

As far as college goes (I can't believe I'm even thinking about this,) I'm planning on attending Syracuse University in New York. I'm actually pretty excited about that.

Some little miscellaneous things about me:

• I'm a bit of a gamer. My favorite games are small Indie games, but my top 3 are Stardew Valley, Little Big Planet, and Minecraft.

• I love music. I have a lot of favorite artists, but my current repeats are Hard Out Here and Five Star Hotel by Raye. My all time favorite artists are Shawn Mendes and Melanie Martinez. I also really like The Neighborhood and Chase Atlantic as far as bands go.

• I'm a Gemini Sun Virgo Rising (Yes, I am one of those who follows astrology and Zodiac Signs)

• My favorite Greek God is Athena, Goddess of wisdom and war strategy.

• I don't really have a favorite color, I like them all.
  

That's all that I have for this little bit of an introduction. I don't necessarily have a posting plan for this blog, but I want to make this a somewhat regular thing. Stick around if you would like.
