I Entered The Void...And It Took Me To Heaven And Back

"She's high; she lives in the sky tonight, she's satisfied; rolling back her eyes, but then she starts to cry; everything is turning to black; all in one night, she just went to heaven and back."

Nothing could have prepared me for Sunday night. It was hands down the best night of my life. Chase Atlantic (CA) wasn't my first concert, it was my second one ever. The first concert I ever went to was Melanie Martinez's The Trilogy Tour. In my opinion, CA beat her as far as concert experience.

I bought the tickets back in late August when they went on Pre-Sale. I tried to get my mom to get VIP (we would've been guaranteed barricade and would've gotten merch) but I'm happy with the spot that we got. I was supposed to take my best friend, but some miscommunication happened and she wasn't able to go with us. The sad part about that is I bought her ticket and I wasn't able to resell it, so that was $88 wasted.

I had been planning my outfit since I got the tickets and I was so happy with how it turned out. My mom was kind of shocked since it's not my "typical style," but I figured that since I 1) didn't go all out for Melanie, and 2) CA hasn't toured in the US for a hot minute I should go all out. Spoiler: It was so worth it. I had a couple of people come up to me and compliment my fit.

Compared to the Melanie concert, I think I had more fun at the CA one. The band was more engaging with their audience, there was more people closer to around my age, and the vibes were just insane in general. 24KGOLDN opened for them, and even without knowing him or his music, his setlist was actually really good.

CA opened with DIE FOR ME, and each member came out one by one. First was Mitchell (my favorite band member), then came Christian AKA Kras, and finally Clinton. I'm pretty sure my voice was gone before Slow Down started playing - it was the second song on the setlist.

I'm pretty sure I embarrassed myself during DIE FOR ME, because I started screaming the lyrics to the chorus before the instrumentals even started, but it's ok, I wasn't the only one who did.

The group of girls who were behind me were actually really nice. For one of them, Chase Atlantic was her first concert experience. I'm pretty sure they were all high, though. One girl's pupils were dilated so bad you could only see her pupil. It was a good experience with them, though. They all were really nice, and had actually reached out for concert videos. (If I use any of theirs, credits go to them)

At the time of writing this post, the album had already dropped, but when I went five of the songs they played weren't released yet: FAVELA , DEMON TIME, NIGHT CALLS, YOU, and MESS ME UP. I honestly thought when Mitchell played DEMON TIME, it was going to be my favorite on the album...turns out it's DISCONNECTED.

Leading up to the concert, I refused to watch any videos spoiling it. I'm glad I did, it made the experience a whole lot better. Mitchell and Kras are known to be a little...touchy...on stage, and it was honestly an experience seeing their relationship live on stage. There's more posts dedicated to the experience posted on the Instagram!
