It's me again! If you're new here, welcome to my blog! If you're not, thanks for sticking around. On todays post, I'm highlighting the new additions to the website.
If you haven't noticed, there's a new section on the website!

We have a Supporters section!
Over the weekend, I decided to add a Patreon for the blog. Yes, I am aware that it is entirely too early to ask for supporters, but I figured why not? I will never ask for much, but support is amazingly appreciated. The Tina's Talks Patreon offers 4 tiers:
Free! The free tier offers access to public posts such as update notifications and posting schedules.
Reporter! The Reporter tier is just a general support for those who want to show love by donating $1.
Broadcaster! The Broadcaster tier offers access to my completed projects - both past and present. It does not unlock access to the "behind the scenes," just the finished projects. This tier is $3.50. Psst! This also includes future short stories!
Journalist! The Journalist tier offers access to all of my "behind-the-scenes" stuff ranging from my creative process, unrelated project updates, and access to a Journalist Chat where we can talk! Also included in this tier is the ability to have your name listed in the Supporters tab. This tier is $5.
Again, it is not required of you to pay me any money. I had the idea of starting a Patreon alongside the beginnings of the blog purely as a way for those who wish to offer support to do so.
The Patreon is not the only thing that's new. I currently have plans on starting up a TikTok as well as a YouTube! Both accounts have been made, and there is currently a post up on TikTok. Instagram will always be there, we just have two new additions!
With that out of the way, today marked my first official day of college. My current schedule consists of an 8AM Math class that I have everyday except Thursdays.
Not fun.
My mom ordered me a 12 pack of Monster Energy drinks and I honestly don't think it will be enough to get me through a Prob & Stat Lecture. Other than that specific class, my Monday classes aren't that bad. I have 3 classes back-to-back, then a 2 hour break, and then my last class which is a literature course. So far it's looking like I'm only going to need to purchase two textbooks - not bad!
I've been trying my best to talk and meet new people; build my network, as my dad would say. I met someone recently who made me realize that I'm not as outgoing as I thought I was. I'm more introverted than I am extroverted - and that's ok. I'm making a habit of saying "Hi," and talking to those around me in my classes and just out and about: the Student Center, in the elevator, the dining halls, etc.
Doing so led me to some international students and even some upperclassman. I think I'm going to be alright.
The first day did have me thinking back to all of my other first days; every other one I always had my dad there. We would wake up at the same time, take photos in front of the fireplace and the car, and he'd send me off.
I didn't have him here to send me off on my first day of classes, but I did have him send me off on my new chapter on move-in.
Today I thank my dad for believing in me and helping me get here. I wouldn't be at this school, sitting in the Schine Student Center, if my dad didn't believe in me.
That's the end of today's post. This college student has some homework she has to get done. Thank you for reading and don't forget to check out the new Patreon!
