Heartstopper, Game of Thrones, and Editing an Essay

Hi! Welcome back! There is a disclaimer at the end of this post. Please read it :)
The past couple days have been uneventful, so, I decided to rant about a couple of things I've been up to!
First and foremost, I found a new TV show. A big piece of info is needed to understand why I love this show so much: I'm queer. The creator of this webcomic-turned-Netflix-Series named it perfectly because I'm pretty certain my heart stopped multiple times from how adorable Nick and Charlie are.
Heartstopper is based in England, and is about 2 high school boys who end up meeting at an all boys school. Charlie was outed on accident, and Nick doesn't even know he swings both ways yet. All he understands is he wants to be around Charlie 24/7 and feels more like himself with him. It honestly sounds like me when I experienced my first actual girl-crush in 7th grade.
I binged the 2 seasons in an entire day, and read through the entire webcomic the next. I'm planning on getting the books (and there's a coloring book?!) when I can. The next season comes out in October and I honestly cannot wait. I love how there's small details that are consistent between both the show and the comic.
Also, the little animations that they use only makes it better. A lot of people don't appreciate how the media portrays the LGBT community, and if I'm honest I don't like how people think the media is trying to portray us. I find it extremally inclusive when directors and producers introduce gay couples (that aren't extremally sexualized, might I add) to fairly popular tv shows; just like how I find it encouraging when there's a protagonist who is either Black or Hispanic. It's taken years for the media industry to include things that are deemed "taboo," and I know I'm late to on the Heartstopper train, but I'm glad I found it.
I need me a Nick Nelson but in female form in my life. Like, now.
As stated in the title, I've also sort of gotten into Game of Thrones. I keep seeing edits of House of the Dragon on my TikTok feed and I wanted to see what the hype was about. I'm not watching the show yet, of course. I did, however, buy book 1 on apple books the other day and I'm reading through it. I'm still kind of confused, but it's not half bad.
There's just too many names to keep track of.
Lastly, I asked one of my coworkers if they wanted to proof read my Common App essay. Of course I'm going to ask one of my English teachers to look over it, but I figured having another set of eyes wouldn't hurt. It kind of hit me while I was revising it that this is my last year, and I won't really be able to do a lot of senior year activities, like Senior Sunrise. I can't burden my friends by constantly complain that I don't have any means of transportation, but I also don't want to miss out on things. Especially with this being my last year.
It just makes me feel like I'm falling behind, sometimes.
That's all for this week's post! It's not much, but I promise I'll make up for it next week being that my first day of Senior Year is on Thursday.
Also, feel free to subscribe to the blog! I can send out notifications to my subscribers through the Wix App so you can get updates on when I post! This whole thing is still kind of new, and I'm not familiar with all of the technical aspects of Wix yet, but we're getting there!
I am going to take this time to write a disclaimer:
I do not take homophobic and hurtful language kindly. This blog is a safe space for both myself and you, the viewer. If you have any negative feeling to me being queer, I encourage you to stop reading. This is a big part of who I am, and I would greatly appreciate being respected for that.
