Am I going to be an Orange? 🤔

This weekend my dad and I went to visit Syracuse's campus. And holy....yeah, I think I want to be an Orange.
The trip is about 5 hours from my house, but with traffic it felt like eternity. When we crossed the PA line, it didn't really feel like we were in a completely different state. We only stayed for 2 days, but I could totally see myself going to Upstate New York for college.
There's just about nothing to do in Syracuse, but I kind of like that. It feels like home, but not at the same time. The City of Syracuse is not big enough to be considered a city, but It's actually not that bad. I could totally see me making a video of me going to get coffee and then hoping right on to class.
Syracuse does have a HUGE mall, though. Me and my dad got lost trying to find a place to eat. It's a 4 story mall that wraps around itself. The only thing that kind of sucked was the fact that every store closes at 8. They were already starting to close when we got there at 6.
As far as campus tours and open houses go, this one was organized well. Their mascot is Otto the Orange and he's the cutest little thing, oh my god. When they dismissed us for the college tours - mine was Newhouse - my jaw just about dislocated.
If you didn't know already, Syracuse is one of the best schools to go for journalism and/or comms. Our group was the biggest, it had to be. The Journalism crew had to get split again because of how many people there was. Granted, there was a good few for more than just journalism. I was still surprised, though. They had us do introductions and there was a family that came all the way from California. Someone else was originally from Switzerland.

I have to say, though, while on the tour I could see why this school is ranked so high. Every other school I went to, their comms program feels like it's all over the place. Not here. Everything is color coded and wonderfully organized. You can't sign out just any equipment, you can only sign out the ones you know how to use, and you make your way up. (I can guess it's like that most places, too, but I thought it was really cool because it wasn't like that at the other colleges I've visited)

Their studio. Holy. I can't even put into words how blown away I was. Their set up left no room for negative space, and they use state of the art technology. It was spacious enough to not feel overbearing or empty, and you require ID to even enter the room.
It's safe to say Syracuse met my expectations, and even exceeded them.
I could totally see myself going to school there, if not for the 77k tuition...the only way I'm getting in is with a scholarship.
But I think I might be an Orange🍊
Oh, also, this trip was my dad's TikTok Awakening. No, you cannot have his TikTok.
